holy diver
i've known about dio for a while but i only just got around to listening to like actual albums from him which i'm kind of embarrassed to admit TT
reading about how the inspirations for his lyrics come from things he read and from just being a fantasy nerd in general really endears me to his music
'cause like YES, you get me. i know singing about fantastical things might be cornball behavior for some, but i think dio does it in a way that feels
epic as hell!!
i wish i could've seen him perform live before he passed. in all of the concert videos i've seen of him, his stage presence
goes crazy hard and the runs he does in between verses are so good!!
jar of flies
quite literally rewired my brain. i don't have any songs from this album in my sitely music player because i will quite literally burst into tears.
i was debating on whether to put "dirt" too, but this album is just so much better (sorry dirt, self titled, and/or duvall-era albums enthusiasts).
not that i hate dirt or the other projects, but there's some real magic that happened here. they cooked so hard with this.
highway 61 revisited
oh, you're kidding...oh, you're JOKING. if you've been visiting the site for a long while, you'll probably remember when i had "knockin' on heaven's door" as the featured song
and that was, in fact, the first folk song that really got to me. so, imagine my surprise when i took the time to listen to an entire bob dylan record only to find straight up bangers???
YEP !!! YEEEEEEEEP !!!!!!!! love me some good storytelling and he nailed it so hard you would've thought he was a constuction worker.
