i've known about dio for a while but i only just got around to listening to like actual albums from him which i'm kind of embarrassed to admit TT
reading about how the inspirations for his lyrics come from things he read and from just being a fantasy nerd in general really endears me to his music
'cause like YES, you get me. i know singing about fantastical things might be cornball behavior for some, but i think dio does it in a way that feels
epic and real like yes, we are actually off to the witch and we may never ever ever come home.
i wish i could've seen him perform live before he passed. in all of the concert videos i've seen of him, his stage presence
goes crazy hard and the runs he does in between verses are so good!!
jar of flies
quite literally rewired my brain. i don't have any songs from this album in my sitely music player because i will quite literally burst into tears.
i was debating on whether to put "dirt" too, but this album is just so much better (sorry dirt, self titled, and/or duvall-era albums enthusiasts).
not that i hate dirt or the other projects, but there's some real magic that happened here. whether that was because of layne's declining
health or starr getting booted or bringing inez on or all three i'm not sure, but they cooked so hard with this.
horseshit on route 66
what do you guys know about the garden!!! i wish i found their stuff earlier, they are the coolest?? this album put me on to a lot of other
punk music and yes, i KNOW they call their genre of music "vada vada", but it has obvious roots in punk. their show tickets are surprisingly
cheap and i wish i could've gone to see them when they came to my city, but i don't have anyone to go with which sucks!
